RMP Acoustic Consultants and Building Performance Centre of Edinburgh Napier University have been involved in numerous research projects into building acoustics and noise-related issues. We have been the developers in new standards, such as Section 5:Noise (Scotland) and innovative regulatory compliance procedures such as Robust Details. We have undertaken work and provided advice for a range of government bodies such as:

The Building Performance Centre (BPC) is a research and knowledge transfer centre within the Institute of Sustainable Construction within Edinburgh Napier University. It has national and international recognised experts who cover a wide range of disciplines. Key functions of the Centre include:

• Construction product research and development
• Development of technical standards, robust details and building regulations
• Building diagnosis and material performance
• Sustainable construction

Our research work, CPD and knowledge transfer with industry covers both large multinational organisations and small SME companies. In addition we are often asked to undertake research on behalf of industry organisations such as:
