Great Glen House, Inverness

In June 2006 Great Glen House in Inverness opened as the new headquarters to the Scottish Natural Heritage and the Deer Commission, Scotland. The building has achieved the highest standards of the environmental sustainability, including the highest BREEAM rating to date a maximum 10-out-of-10 EPI rating. The project has also been awarded the Sustainable Building of the Year Award by Building Magazine in 2006.

Working with the architects of the project Keppie Design and developers Robertson Construction RMP Acoustic Consultants provided full acoustic consultancy on the project. We advised on appropriate acoustic standards to be achieved throughout the building including sound insulation, noise control and reverberation time. RMP Acoustic Consultants’ scope of work also included preparing full computer modeling of the space, providing advice and recommendations on sound insulation and appropriate construction design to achieve agreed acoustic standards, including the BREEAM assessment.
