Juliette Paris
MEng, AMIOA

Acoustic Consultant

Educated, with first class, in Noise & Vibration Engineering and Management at ENSIM -Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Ingenieurs du Mans and has completed a Post-Graduate Diploma within the Institute of Acoustics in 2009.  

Juliette Paris joined Robin Mackenzie Partnership in 2008 and had previously worked for Mott Macdonald Ltd as a graduate acoustic consultant.

Areas of expertise:

Sound Insulation Testing
On a weekly basis, Juliette undertakes sound testing for numerous new build Scottish residential projects in accordance with ISO 140 and the requirements of Section 5 - Domestic Noise 2006 of the Building (Scotland) Regulations 2004.  These include large projects by Border Construction Ltd, Barratt East Scotland and Cruden Ltd.

Juliette is a registered ANC tester involved in sound testing in England and Wales in accordance with the aforementioned British Standard and Approved Document E, the Building Regulations 2000.  These include large projects by Southdale Homes Ltd, Anderson Monarflex Icopal UK Ltd and NB Clark.

School Design
Juliette has been responsible for the commissioning testing as part of the acoustic design of a large number of school projects ranging from primary to higher education.  These include Craigroyston High School by Laing o’Rourke Scotland Ltd, Larkhall Academy by Morgan Ashurst and Aileymill Primary School by Miller Construction Ltd.

Environmental Impact Assessment - Noise
Juliette has undertaken a number of noise impact assessments in accordance with PAN 56 including transportation, leisure, commercial and industrial noise.  These include developments by McTaggart Construction, Dunedin Canmore Housing Association, and Tom Muir Construction

Environmental Impact Assessment - Vibration
Juliette has undertaken a number of railway vibration impact assessments in accordance with BS 4672 for developments affected by the East Cost Main Line and the Edinburgh to Aberdeen Line.

Noise Mapping
Juliette is involved in noise mapping as part of environmental assessments using the software Sound Plan.  This was used for example on a residential development by Fouin + Bell Architects along a railway line or for a development adjacent to busy road by Taylor Wimpey & Miller Homes.

Room Modelling
As part of design review projects, Juliette is involved in preparing 3D models using the Odeon software such as for the Thurso College.
